Supervisor Logistics
Position Overview
This role is responsible to manage the Logistics Staff, develops and maintains climate of exceptional customer service in compliance with Customs and International Trade Regulations, interacts with Department Managers and Supervisors to establish service levels and improve Supply Chain performance in a cost-efficient manner.
Job Duties:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
2. Five years of experience in import/export, international transportation and trade compliance.
3. Demonstrated knowledge in Medical Industry, Supply Chain, Free Trade Zone Regulation and Trade Compliance.
4. A minimum of one year plus of supervisory experience.
5. Focus on outstanding customer satisfaction.
6. Excellent communication skills.

Job Duties:
- Efficiently oversees all import and export processes related to on time delivery for Finished Goods, Raw Materials and Indirect Materials involved in the facility operation.
- Maintain direct communications with carriers, customs, government offices, suppliers, warehouses, customs brokers and others involved in the shipping and delivery of goods.
- Ensures compliance with Costa Rican and International Customs regulations, HTS validation, goods valuation, countries of origin, record keeping and special trade programs.
- Conducts cost analysis for Freight and Sterilization spending to identify improvement opportunities.
- Creates BIDs for Logistics Services and evaluates quotes from best carriers based on cost, availability and reliability.
- Works closely with:
a. Purchasing and warehouse to prioritize inbound shipments;
b. Raw Material Warehouse and Receiving inspection for material release;
c. Manufacturing for material delivery and special projects;
d. Planning for pre and post sterile shipments;
e. Finished Goods Warehouse for post sterile delivery and shipping products;
f. All other areas to provide excellent service ensuring customer satisfaction. - Serves as subject matter expert on Medical Industry Logistics, recommends and implements opportunities for improvements in customer service, cost reductions, best transportation methods and operational processes.
- Constantly work to improve processes and implement productivity improvements.
- Work with Global Logistics to implement direct customer shipments for different locations.
- Ensure compliance with Incoterms.
- Maintains a logistics continuity plan.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations (Free Trade Zone, Trade Compliance, JSOX, Quality Regulations, Internal Policies)
- Participates in Goals Setting Process for Supply Chain Department.
- Supervises, train, guide, evaluate and develop personnel under his/herresponsability.

Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding planning, purchasing, shipping & receiving, warehouse and inventory systems
- Managing daily routes/plans of shipments, carrier selections, customs processes, deliveries and tracking the progress of shipments.
- Ability to multi-task and successfully adhere to deadlines
- Must possess good organization and communication skills.
- Proficientwith MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ERP Systems experience.
