Position Overview

Responsible for the administration of the company’s benefits programs and policies. Partner with internal team members and other third-party vendors to manage the completion of the day-to-day benefits processing tasks. Assist associates with benefits enrollment and questions, verify all insurance billing, audit benefits files, maintain associate LOA files, and ensure compliance with required benefit notices. Job duties:
  • Partner with Benefits Manager and the parent company in the implementation of new benefit programs and the renewal of existing benefit programs.
  • Provide company-wide benefits administration including claims issues, new hire enrollment, and mid-year status changes.
  • Manage the development, communication, and administration of leaves of absence to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local law.
  • Assist in creating benefits communication strategies and materials.
  • Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of the benefit carrier invoices.
  • Assist with special projects including Open Enrollment, total rewards statements, the coordination of wellness events and the preparation of the annual benefits brochure.
  • Ensure that associate benefits information is kept confidential, and all files/documents are maintained in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Work with benefits carriers and vendors to resolve complex, non-routine benefits-related requests/issues to closure such as appeals, vendor problems, domestic relations/court orders, etc.
  • Prepare and file annual reports and distribute required annual notices.
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit questions and claims.
  • Administer COBRA.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.
  • Assist Benefits Manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Administer leave of absence program.
  • Assist Benefits Manager in completing benefits reporting requirements.
  • Assist Nurse Practitioner with contact tracing and storage of covid test photos/documents.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
    1. Bachelor’s degree with concentration in HR or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. High level of integrity; ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally.
    3. Successful experience working independently, effectively, and confidently in a team environment.
    4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    6. Proficient computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
    7. Thorough knowledge and understanding of company’s HR policies and procedures.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. One (1) to three (3) years of HR/Benefits experience preferred.
    2. PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations preferred.
    3. Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
    4. Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and COBRA laws.
