Position Overview

Support development and manufacturing of primarily chemistry-based products and synthesis of raw materials for medical devices with work including writing or verifying specifications, maintaining product process, designing fixtures, test processes, equipment, and raw materials to ensure that subassemblies and finished products meet requirements. Job duties:
  • Improve, sustain, develop, or build manufacturing processes for new and existing products; implement product changes or enhancements.
  • Support investigations of non-conformances/out-of-specification results.
  • Perform tests, analyze and interpret test data, and reports results.
  • Responsible for HPLC and GC performance and testing.
  • Support validation of materials, product, equipment, or processes.
  • Perform chemical processes for production devices.
  • Interface with other departments or companies to resolve production problems.
  • Maintain laboratory with equipment, raw material, and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., create presentations, reports, etc.).
  • Perform day-to-day tasks under supervision.
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, or a related field of study.
    2. Zero (0) to one (1) year of experience in a progressively responsible role in materials analysis or technician work.
    3. Good written and verbal communications skills.
    4. Must be able to perform and interpret GC and HPLC (UV-Vis) testing.
    5. Knowledge in good laboratory practices.
    6. Knowledge of processes required for handling hazardous materials.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Reading and preparing technical documentation.
    2. Working knowledge of standard laboratory equipment, organic synthetic and transformation processes, wet test methods, and qualitative and quantitative measurements.
    3. Knowledge of medical devices.
    4. Knowledge of cGMP, ISO 9001/13845.
    5. Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype and Word, statistical tools (e.g. Minitab), SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
