Technician Sr Business Excellence

Position Overview

Supports Industrial Engineers in the daily tasks. Directs and coordinates Lean activities to continuously improve manufacturing processes. Leads the 5S Program implementation. Collaborates with the Production Team to improve product design and coordinates layout movements in order to improve the production process flows throughput, lead time and capacity. Raises awareness for Lean Manufacturing. Best practices and continuous improvement culture within the department. Acts as support for project management related activities. Job duties:
  1. Supports project management related activities.
  2. Assists with implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving manufacturing processes.
  3. Supports Quality audit preparation activities.
  4. Evaluates continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes working with engineering teams.
  5. Coordinates and implements Kaizen projects in the production lines work.
  6. Responsible of implementing and maintaining the 5S program.
  7. Supports Quality and Safety departments escalating opportunities and performing action items follow up as result of 5S reviews.
  8. Supports Software/systems implementation in the manufacturing floor.
  9. Trains the production supervisors, leads and operators in Lean principles.
  10. Generates line walkthrough reports for supervisors and management including metrics and improvement recommendations.
  11. Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Job Details

    1. Industrial engineering or related field student.
    2. One (1) to three (3) years of operations experience.
    3. Experience with Lean principles.
    4. Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    5. Flexible schedule and over time work availability.
    6. Drawings interpretation.
    7. Effective communication.
    8. English proficiency (60%-75%).
    9. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, and SketchUp or Solidworks
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Project management skills.
    2. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and principles.
    3. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
    4. Experience utilizing production equipment.
    5. Ability to analyze data, present findings and make recommendations.
    6. Statistical Software (Minitab/JMP), and Process Simulation software (Arena or similar) are a plus.
