Position Overview

The Process Engineer Intern supports manufacturing of products for medical devices with work including maintaining product process, developing and optimizing processes, and identifying cost reductions. Typical job duties include:

  • Assist current manufacturing processes.

  • Assist manufacturing process improvements.

  • Assist with transfer of R&D projects from R&D to manufacturing.

  • Interface with cross functional departments.

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies on production floor.

  • Investigate and test product processes.

  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The process development team supports the manufacturing process of neurovascular stents, stentrievers, peripheral stents, and embolic protection devices. The process engineer intern will be part of a high performing team that works on various stages of manufacturing

  • Required Qualifications

    • Working toward a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or other related discipline.

    • Strong interest and/or experience in process/manufacturing development.

    • Coursework and/or knowledge of statistics.

    • Ability to read and prepare technical documentation.

    • Computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint (SolidWorks and Minitab a plus).

    Desired Qualifications

    • Strong analytical capability and organizational skills

    • Demonstration of having grit

    • Strong communication skills.

    • Knowledge of medical device materials and processes: metals, laser welding, braiding, adhesives, plastics/polymers

    Additional Information

    • The primary work location for this position is onsite at Aliso Viejo, CA (company headquarters).

    • Relocation may be available for qualified candidates.

    • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship.
